FERGUS - Sam Black of Fergus was selected by the Barrie Colts in the fourth round of the OHL Priority Draft on April 22.

ELORA – The gallery at township hall was packed to overflowing on April 19 as Centre Wellington held a public meeting regarding two proposed developments in the downtown core of Fergus and Elora, each seeking to add a fourth storey to the buildings.

ELORA – Riverfest Elora brings about 5,000 people to Bissell Park here every summer. This year it’s from Aug. 18 to 20 and will feature headliners The Reklaws on Friday, Metric on Saturday, and Feist on Sunday.

ELORA – Portage is a non-profit organization that has supported tens of thousands of people with addiction services since 1973. The Elora location opened in 1985. It offers residential, voluntary addiction rehabilitation, free of charge, to youth from across Ontario. 

ELORA – Stirling Marathon has completed construction of the 50,000 square-foot addition it added to its manufacturing plant in Elora and expects to have it fully operational within the year. And when that happens, the family-owned business will be ready to hire.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Priorities have shifted over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic and volunteers are finding it more difficult than ever to contribute. 

ELORA – The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is providing close to $700,000 in its latest payment to Centre Wellington for hosting Elements Casino Grand River in Elora.

ELORA – Speeding is among the top concerns councillors hear from residents, so Centre Wellington council was happy to learn the township is taking action on road safety.
