FERGUS – The Fergus Lions Club hosted the 44th annual Home and Leisure Show last week, May 10 to 12, at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex. 

Saturday pancakes – Once spring starts, the Kitchen in the Park Project in Bissell Park in Elora isn’t far behind.

Raising money for Groves – The first charity car wash for the season was held at the Emmanuel Christian High School on May 13.

Yearly donations – Groves Memorial Community Hospital will receive donations of $10,000 a year for the next three years from the RBC Foundation.

The usual suspects – Volunteers with the Elora/Salem Horticultural Society held their annual plant sale on May 13 at the Elora Centre for the Arts – and what a great, bloomin’ day for it.

Church bazaar – The hall in the basement of Knox Presbyterian Church in Elora was the scene of the church’s annual bazaar on April 29.

School display – Students in the political club at Emmanuel Christian High School placed hundreds of pink and blue flags on the lawn in front of the Fergus school on May 10.

Plant sale – Maranatha Canadian Reformed Church held its plant sale on May 13 in Fergus.

Electronics drive – The Centre Wellington Optimist Club held a drive to collect old electronics on April 29.
