ERIN – A Fergus woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash here on Tuesday morning. Emergency crews were called to the scene, on Wellington Road 125 at Halton-Erin Townline, southeast of Ospringe, on June 6 at about 6am.

FERGUS – The grounds behind the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex came alive over the weekend for the inaugural Meadows Festival. 

ABOYNE – A Pride flag is flying above the OPP station in Aboyne – a symbol to residents and visitors alike that Wellington County is caring, inclusive, accepting of all, and won’t stand for intolerance or hate.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The annual Awards of Excellence Gala, presented by OLG and the Township of Centre Wellington, was held on May 30 as an in-person gala at The GrandWay Events Centre and livestreamed to the community, allowing anyone to tune-in virtually.

ELORA – Centre Wellington council approved the long-awaited strategic plan on May 29 that will guide the budget, priorities of staff, and establish new advisory committees to help council reach its goals before the next election in 2026.

ABOYNE – People can connect with local authors, write with a typewriter, listen to stories and music, or even watch a puppet show at the second annual Wellington County Writers’ Festival.  

ELORA – The Save Middlebrook Bridge group made another attempt to save the historic bridge that is slated to be removed in 2028.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Homemade cars will once again race through Elora’s downtown on July 1.  

FERGUS – Candlemaker Kristy Miller says she is a “living example” that dreams really can come true.
