FERGUS – This year’s garden tour hosted by the Fergus and District Horticultural Society is set for June 25 from 12:30 to 4:30pm. 

ELORA – Dutch residents and the “Dutch at heart” enjoyed some sounds of their home country on June 15 at Knox Presbyterian Church in Elora. A men’s ensemble from the fishing town of Urk, in the Netherlands, visited the area for a concert of song, piano and organ music.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County fire departments have lifted a partial fire ban in the municipalities of Minto, Mapleton, Wellington North, Centre Wellington, Erin, Puslinch and Guelph/Eramosa.

Community members in Wellington County will celebrate the summer solstice and Indigenous Peoples Day by planting traditional medicines in the Indigenous Gathering Circle in Aboyne. 

FERGUS – The playground equipment at Victoria Park here was to be removed on Thursday. The decision was made by Centre Wellington staff after the playground had to be "closed suddenly" last month "due to structural damage to the slide," states a June 13 press release from the township.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Cnossen family is preparing to serve up to 1,700 community members breakfast on its Holstein dairy farm on June 17. 

BELWOOD – Restoring a local landmark to a new purpose is taking more time and effort than Noah Klar and Jefferson Wilde originally thought. But their project to restore the old Belwood Schoolhouse, now called the Skol House, is advancing.

FERGUS – Emergency crews were notified of a gas leak on Millburn Boulevard, near the Burnside/Roberston intersection, at about 12:44pm on June 14.

FERGUS – The Fergus Curling Club (FCC) is hosting its first “ABC’s 4 FCC” Fundraiser beginning on June 21 from 5 to 9pm.
