Headwaters Arts presents ‘View Dignity’

ALTON – Headwaters Arts presents View Dignity, a solo exhibition by local Headwaters Arts member and renowned woodfire clay artist Ann Randeraad.

“In our current social, political and personal environments, we are becoming ever increasingly aware of the dignity of all people and mindfulness of individuals, organizations and communities,” Randeraad says.

Her recent collection of functional and decorative works is her response to this important issue.

The works are on exhibit in the Headwaters Arts Gallery until Sept. 11.

Randeraad suggests that, “dignity holds proud, often against the odds, providing inspiration for these functional art and decorative pieces.”

Her pieces have a wealth of complimentary and contrasting textures, muted messages and layered surfaces, that speak to her interpretation of dignity in the exploration of forms, contours and surface treatments.

There are over 75 works in the show including: wall plates, bowls, pillows, decorative tiles, sculptural pieces, plates, flower bricks, envelope vases, burners, tumblers, mugs, trays and more   – all beautifully presented on plinths, shelves and sills.

Randeraad is a prolific creator, not only with clay but she is also an illustrator and writer.

Headwaters Arts Gallery located in the Alton Mill Arts Centre in Alton.
