Erin wins three Headwaters Tourism Excellence Awards

On Nov. 25 the Dufferin County Museum and Archives announced the winners of the Headwaters Tourism Excellence Awards. The Town of Erin took home three of the possible 11 awards.

Every year Headwaters Tourism honours those businesses and individuals who exemplify excellence in their community and the Town of Erin was rewarded for the hard work and collaborative efforts put forward this year.

Hills of Erin Studio Tour won “Best Arts, Culture or Heritage Experience”, Chef Pam Fanjoy from The Friendly Chef Adventures won “Best Culinary Tourism Experience” and was also a nominee for “Best New Tourism Business”, and Maria Britto, Chair of the Town of Erin Economic Development Committee, won the “Tourism Ambassador” award.

The Erin Fall Fair was a nominee for “Tourism Event or Festival of the Year” and Brighten Up and Merchants of Downtown Erin were nominated for the “Best Customer Service Experience (Business).  Headwaters Parade of Horses Collaborative Project won the “Tourism Innovator” award.

“We are pleased that Hillsburgh is the home of one of the Parade of Horses (Rosie) and Erin’s McMillan Park is the home of another of the Parade of Horses (Future Past 2412),” said Robyn Mulder, Erin’s new economic development officer.

Erin Mayor Allan Alls, Bob Cheetham, former economic development coordinator and Mulder  said they were proud to be a part of this great achievement for the Town of Erin.

“This is a fine example that when we work as a team, great things can be accomplished, the results speak for themselves as they certainly did last night,” said Alls.
