Drayton Heights student council members receive a $1,000 cheque from the Alma Optimists for Empowerment Day 2016. Three thousand Wellington County students will attend the event on April 15 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus. Speakers for the event include Colonel Chris Hadfield, Free the Children’s Molly Burke, two-time Olympic champion Brian Price and local musician Sarah Smith. Optimist Clubs of the Upper Grand District School Board area will be the major sponsors of the event.
