Correction:
An article on page 1 of the Jan. 1 issue of the Wellington Advertiser incorrectly stated that Mapleton council is considering a 6.6 per cent increase in the tax “levy” for 2016.
The 6.6% figure (since revised to 5.75%) actually refers to the increase in the township’s total tax “rate.” The actual levy increase proposed in the township’s draft budget is 20.3%.
The Advertiser regrets the error.
