Come out to square dance

The first meeting of the Erin 4-H square dancing club was on Oct. 25.

We picked our partners for dancing. Currently the club has two sets of four  pairs. The four pairs form the shape of a square.

We learned some of the common, basic dances like Texas Twirl, and Dip and Dive, then put them to music.

We then held the elections of officers. Every 4-H club has a president, vice president, secretary and press reporter.

The president opens and closes the meetings, and the vice president does that when the president is away.

The secretary takes notes and writes up the minutes, which are submitted to the 4-H officials and kept in records. The press reporter writes reports with pictures and sends them to Newspapers.

Anyone interested in joining can go to www.4-hcanada.ca. The meetings are at 6:30pm in the Masonic Lodge by the Erin fairgrounds.

You will see us in the Rockwood Parade of Lights on Dec. 10.
