Orton celebration - The Orton Community Association celebrated the completion of this year’s Orton Kid’s Ball season on Aug. 14 with a hot dog barbecue and awards presentations.

Tournament winners - On Aug. 25 the Aboyne Croquet Club hosted an open tournament with players from Texas, California, Maryland, Toronto, as well as others from the local area.

Finalists - The Mount Forest Major Rookie - Tier 1 team competed in the year end WOBA Championship Tournament held in Mitchell.

Open pairs tournament - The Mount Forest Lawn Bowling Club hosted an open pairs tournament for members of the Ontario Lawn Bowls Association (OLBA).

Local recognition - Nathan Skoufis, 25, owner and head instructor of Guelph Family Martial Arts recently received recognition on behalf of the Puslinch Township and Mayor James Seeley.

Mixed tournament - Lawn bowling is in full swing at the Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling Club in Elora.

And they’re off - The Subaru Guelph Two triathlon and duathlon took place at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area on Aug. 31.
