MOUNT FOREST – Crystal Steffler and John Ray share a passion for bettering their communities. And that passion was recognized on Oct. 18 during the Mount Forest Chamber of Commerce's Excellence Awards ceremony.

MINTO – Following a notice of motion from Mayor Dave Turton, next year Minto council meetings have been changed to 3pm with one 7pm meeting held during February, April, June, October and December.

WINGHAM – The CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon took to the airwaves on Oct. 19 with a mission to inspire support for local hospitals in mid-western Ontario. At the end of the seven-hour broadcast, $376,189 was raised toward vital health care projects for hospitals.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local fishermen David Pol of Arthur and Derek Cushing of Salem are making their dreams come true as the duo prepares to represent Canada at the 2024 Bass Master Team Championship later this year in Louisiana. 

HARRISTON – The Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation hosted a Halloween on Ice event on Oct. 20 at the Harriston Arena.
