Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games

FERGUS – To mark its 80th anniversary the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games is introducing a Hall of Fame and the first inductee is festival founder Alex Robertson.

ABOYNE – The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games held an open house at the Wellington County Museum and Archives on June 22 to highlight and celebrate its 80-year history.

FERGUS – Hundreds of people flocked to the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex on Saturday to enjoy the annual Kilt Skate.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A group of marine musicians from North Carolina flew to Canada to team up with the local pipe band for the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games.  

FERGUS – The 79th Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games were in full swing on Aug. 11 when the festival dawned some authentic Scottish weather.

FERGUS – A few local dancers went home with some hardware following the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games over the weekend.

FERGUS – Pipe and drum bands, heavy events and highland dance competitions were just a few of the things drawing people from all over Ontario to Fergus on Saturday and Sunday for the celebration of Scottish heritage that is the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games.

FERGUS – I gained a new appreciation for members of the Fergus Pipe Band after spending some time as an “honorary” band member on July 23.

FERGUS – Shortly after an announcement that Charles Vandervaart, star of Outlander, would attend the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games, Vandervaart announced he wouldn’t be able to make it.

FERGUS – The Blue Bonnet Lassies highland dancers demonstrated their skill on Tartan Day on April 7.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Riverfest Elora and the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games have made the Top 100 Ontario Festivals list for 2023.

FERGUS – The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games hosted a free public “Kilt Skate” at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex on Feb. 25.
