Superstars receive top placements

The Superstars baton club competed in Stratford at their annual Festival City Twirl competition on June 8.  

Approximately 80 athletes from St Marys, Hamilton, Arthur, Fergus, Richmond Hill, Oshawa, Brampton, Stratford and Kitchener gathered for the day-long competition.  

The team Boogie Shoes won first and the team One of Us received a second place.

Individual Results are as follows:

Mackenzie Fraser, 7, of Arthur was 4th in Beg Best Appearing, 6th in Novice Solo and won the Novice Juvenile Miss Festival Twirl Pageant.

Alyssa George, 11, of Fergus was 1st in Int Solo, 2nd in Beg 2Baton and Beg X-Strut, 9th in Beg Best Appearing and 3rd in the Int PreTeen Miss Festival City Twirl Pageant.

Hayleigh Homer, 11, of Fergus was 3rd in Novice 2Baton, 4th in Beg Best Appearing and 5th in Beg Basic March and Beg Solo and 2nd in the Beginner PreTeen Miss Festival City Twirl Pageant.    

Skylar Irwin, 12, of Arthur was 6th in Novice Solo, 10th in Beginner Best Appearing and 2nd in the Beginner PreTeen Miss Festival City Twirl Pageant.

Audra Jander, 15, of Acton was 1st in beginner Rhythmic Twirl.

Paige Johnston, 7, of Arthur was 1st Beginner Solo, 3rd in Beginner Best Appearing and Beginner Basic March and won the Beg Miss Primary Festival City Twirl Pageant.

Chelsea McFadden, 7, of Fergus was 2nd in Novice Solo.

Lauren Robb, 14, of Fergus was 2nd in Beginner Best Appearing, 3rd in Beginner Solo and 2Baton, 4th in Beginner X-Strut and Beginner Rhythmic Twirl and 2nd in the Beginner Junior Miss Festival City Twirl pageant.

Madeline Schindler, 10, of Belwood was 1st in Novice Solo, 4th in Beginner Best Appearing, 3rd in Beginner Rhythmic Twirl and won the Novice PreTeen Miss Festival City Twirl Pageant.

Kaitlyn Wagg, 12, of Arthur was 3rd in Novice Solo

Makenzie Worton, 12, of Fergus was 1st in Beg Best Appearing, 2nd in Beginner Solo, 3rd in Beginner X-Strut, 4th in Novice 2Baton and won the Beginner PreTeen Miss Festival City Twirl Pageant.  

 Duet team of Irwin and Homer placed 1st.

 The twirlers are trained by Krista DiStasi of Fergus.  The athletes are now training for CNBTA National Championships July 4 to 6 in Kitchener.
