On March 4, students will give up something they love to raise funds for student nutrition programs.

March 4 is Live Free Day, which encourages people to live without something they may take for granted – like television or a cellphone – to show support for those who live without every day.

The Live Free campaign is organized by the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington. Money raised during the campaign goes to the charity’s Food and Friends program, which supports 105 student nutrition programs in Wellington, Dufferin and Guelph.

On Friday, students will make a pledge to give up something they love and will donate a toonie to the campaign.  Friends and family are also invited to sponsor students’ efforts. All funds raised will go directly back to the school’s nutrition program.

A number of Upper Grand schools are participating in the Live Free challenge, to support their school’s nutrition program and help local children live free from hunger.
