Rockwood Centennial celebrates grads with car parade

Graduation parade – Rockwood Centennial Public School (RCPS) Grade 8 students missed out on so much this year and because they currently cannot have a traditional celebration, the grad committee wanted to plan something special and exciting to recognize them for all they have accomplished.

“They need to be celebrated. It’s a different type of celebration but hopefully one they will remember always,” said graduation committee chair Tammy Eckerman-Bradley.

RCPS had 92 graduating Grade 8 students. Starting at 7pm, a lengthy procession of colourfully decorated cars paraded through Rockwood’s downtown and neighbourhood streets, honking as socially-distanced residents lined the sidewalks to cheer them on with congratulations.
