Puslinch launches survey

PUSLINCH – The township is excited to launch a community engagement survey on engagepuslinch.ca to gain citizen feedback on the township’s 2022 proposed user fees and charges.

The township depends on revenue from property taxes and user fees and charges to provide quality township services and programs, officials say.

Many of the township’s services are funded by property taxes, however in some cases the township charges a direct user fee to the individual/organization benefitting from the service.

Examples of some of the services funded in part or whole by user fees include:

– use of recreational facilities and building permits

– planning and development applications,

– dog and kennel licensing

– lottery licensing, and

– open air burn permits.

The township values citizen feedback and wants to encourage the public to share their thoughts on important annual projects such as reviewing township user fees and charges, officials say.

“I encourage Puslinch residents to join the local conversation regarding the township’s user fees and charges,” stated mayor James Seeley.

“The comments and suggestions the township receives through Engage Puslinch are important for council to consider when setting township user fees and charges for the upcoming year.”

The survey will be active on the township’s community engagement platform, engagepuslinch.ca, until Oct. 4. A public information meeting will also take place on Sept. 22 at 7pm on the township’s proposed 2022 user fees and charges.
