Public gathering to announce recipients of CWCF mini-grant program

The Centre Wellington Community Foundation (CWCF) would like to invite members of Centre Wellington community to a public gathering and celebration, where they will present and award the successful recipients of their fifth mini-grant program.

This public gathering, open to all, will be held at Aboyne Hall at the Wellington County Museum and Archives on May 12 from 7 to 8:30pm.

The primary aim of the mini-grant program is to assist local initiatives in their good work by providing grants ranging from $500 to $1,000.

“The mini-grant program has allowed CWCF to start granting early on in our development as a community foundation,” said Randal Howard, chair of the foundation in a press release. “Such an effort could not happen without the hundreds of generous donors that have given funds to the foundation to date.”

For anyone interested in learning how to contribute directly contact info@cwcfoundation.ca.

The selection criteria for this fifth year of mini-grants was based directly on the outcomes illustrated in the 2015 Vital Signs report that CWCF released in October 2015.

Specifically, the focus areas of “Gap between Rich and Poor”, “Arts and Culture” and “Belonging and Leadership” provided the basis of selection of successful applicants.

CWCF hopes members of the public will be able to come and join them in celebrating the work by these local initiatives and learn more about what the foundation does.
