Light improvement – On Sept. 12 Ponsonby Recreation Club Inc. celebrated the completion of two large projects. In 2017 the club initiated a Go Fund Me campaign to raise funds to replace the lights on both local ball diamonds and install new safety fence. The club applied to the Jays Care Foundation and was awarded a $25,000 donation toward the lights, which allowed them to reach their goal in 2019. MJM Electric Ltd. completed the light project this year.
“Ponsonby thanks all our contributors – large and small – as well as the community for their ongoing support,” officials say. “We look forward to 2021 and – hopefully – a full season of baseball.”
