OPP dealing with numerous break and enter incidents

Local police have dealt with numerous break and enter calls recently throughout the county.

On July 4 at about 8am Wellington County OPP received a call regarding a break and enter at a home under renovation on Queen Street in Mount Forest that occurred sometime between July 3 at 5pm and July 4 at 8am.

Suspect/s gained entry into the residence through a small, unlocked basement window and stole an air compressor, air nailer, palm sander, satellite docking stations, jig saw and hammers.

On July 4 Wellington County OPP received a report about another break and enter to the concession stand near the ball diamond on Cavan Street in Palmerston.

Approximately one month ago, this concession stand was entered overnight. This time the entry occurred between July 3 at 9pm and July 4 at 9am and candy was stolen.

On July 9 the OPP received a report about a break and enter overnight to a home on Prospect Street in Palmerston.  The suspect(s) entered the garage through a window and stole a KTM SX50 dirt bike (black with the number 6 on the sides and front), grey motocross boots (size 2), children’s size motocross riding shirt and pants, three motocross helmets  and a snowmobile helmet.

In the last few months Wellington County OPP has investigated several break and enter and mischief complaints at the Elora Mill.

The commercial property is currently under construction and a fence has been erected. Signs are posted to keep people out, however suspect/s still continue to enter the property and engage in criminal activity, police say.
