Toronto senior seriously injured after hunting mishap
Man airlifted to hospital after accidentally shooting himself
CENTRE WELLINGTON – A Toronto senior was airlifted to a trauma centre with serious injuries after accidentally shooting himself while hunting earlier this week.
Emergency crews were called to “a hunting-related incident” on Wellington Road 29 in Centre Wellington on Nov. 3 at about 4:45pm.
Asked for more details, OPP spokesperson Carly McKeown said, “The injured party was hunting alone at the time of the incident, during which they sustained an unintentional gunshot wound.”
A 79-year-old from Toronto was transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
The Ministry of Natural Resources has been notified, the OPP added.
