MOUNT FOREST – A donation in memory of a dedicated volunteer has provided Louise Marshall Hospital  (LMH) here with an important piece of equipment.

Just over a year ago, on Jan. 12, 2022, Mount Forest lost a much-loved volunteer, Barbara Gardin.

“In her role as day manager, Barb was an integral member of the team at the Mount Forest Thrift Shop, which supports two local charities: Cancer Patient Services Corporation (CPSC) and the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation. She also volunteered with the Louise Marshall Hospital Auxiliary,” states a press release from the foundation.

The hospital foundation was the recent recipient of a donation of $8,192 from Cancer Patient Services, made in Gardin’s memory. This donation supported the purchase of a uroflow meter, an invaluable tool used by clinicians in the ambulatory care clinic at LMH to assess urologic health.

“The team at Louise Marshall Hospital would like to extend a warm thank you to CPSC for their continued support and generosity, and for helping the hospital to provide excellence in health care close to home,” the release states.
