Ten COVID-19 outbreaks in facilities in WDGPH region
WELLINGTON COUNTY – There are now 10 facility outbreaks of COVID-19 in the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) region as of Dec. 31.
County announces approval of providers for Emergency School Age Child Care program
GUELPH – The County of Wellington has announced the approval of three licensed child care operators that will implement the targeted Emergency School Age Child Care program Jan. 4 to 8.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – A 20-year veteran of the Wellington County OPP faces five charges, including obstruction of justice and breach of trust, following an internal investigation into his conduct.
Fewer impaired driving charges this year
WELLINGTON COUNTY- As of Dec. 17, Wellington County OPP had charged 13 people with impaired driving-related offences since the Festive RIDE program was launched on Nov. 21.
Cargill plant reopens; 55 cases still active but in isolation
GUELPH – The Cargill meat processing plant on Dunlop Drive in Guelph resumed operations on Dec. 29 as anticipated. And as of 12pm that day, public health was reporting a total of 143 employees have tested positive for COVID-19.
County directing local businesses to programs for relief through lockdown
WELLINGTON COUNTY – The County of Wellington’s economic development department is offering to help local business owners find relief and support programs to deal with the impact of the current provincial COVID-19 lockdown.
Some GRCA parks open for limited winter access; administration centre closed
CAMBRIDGE - The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) will be maintaining limited access at a number of conservation areas this winter; however, restrictions will remain in place to help protect staff, watershed communities and reduce the spread of COVID-19.
