WELLINGTON COUNTY – Public health officials are urging area residents to take precautions on Wednesday and Thursday due to the "serious" risk posed by wildfire smoke originating in Quebec and northeastern Ontario.

PUSLINCH – Another train sparked another grass fire along the track that runs through Arkell and that has neighbours up in arms about occurrences they call “frequent” and about the potential for the fires to spread.

PUSLINCH – Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year and program coordinator Sarah Bowers-Peter is taking her show on the road, presenting information about the agency to municipalities and organizations in the region.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County fire departments have lifted a partial fire ban in the municipalities of Minto, Mapleton, Wellington North, Centre Wellington, Erin, Puslinch and Guelph/Eramosa.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Starting Friday, masks are no longer required at the three hospitals in Wellington County. Patients, staff and visitors are now encouraged - but not required - to wear masks.
