FERGUS – A movement that began in Brampton has now grown across the province – and this year, Fergus and Hillsburgh were among the communities helping light the way.

FERGUS – Organizers of the Fergus Santa Claus Parade chose the winning floats in two categories – commercial float and non-profit float.

BELWOOD – On Dec. 2, the Belwood and District Lions Club added two new members.

CENTRE WELLINGTON –  On Dec. 12, the Centre Wellington Minor Hockey U18 BB hockey team carried on a tradition of donation to the Centre Wellington Foodbank.

FERGUS – Fergus Legion Branch 275 has come up with a new way to generate income and serve the community at the same time. And on Jan. 18, Legion officials are holding a grand opening for its newly renovated and rebranded Riverside Events Centre.

FERGUS – Local business owner and electrician Nick Pittman has a servant’s heart and a desire to help struggling families and individuals put food on the table – not just during the Christmas season, but year-round.

FERGUS – Despite the snow and sub-zero temperatures that have come early this year, work on St. David Street North in Fergus is still expected to be completed by Christmas.

BELWOOD – It was a snowy Saturday morning Dec. 6 and the Belwood Community Hall was filled with wide smiles and happy chatter as hundreds of people attended the annual Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Belwood and District Lions Club.

FERGUS – The Fergus Pipe Band marked the end of parade season with a holiday celebration at the Fergus Legion on Dec. 6.

FERGUS – Parents at St. Joseph Catholic School in Fergus held a Christmas “give” shop on Dec. 4 and 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church next door.
