ELORA – In an effort to be inclusive, transparent and build trust in local government, the township has embarked on developing a community engagement charter and strategy.

ELORA – Centre Wellington council learned a little more about “strong mayor powers” and what it will mean for process and procedure in the coming year.

FERGUS – With broken bulbs and rust breaking through chipped paint, it was time to toss or fix the halo lights adorning lightposts throughout downtown Fergus every Christmas season.

FERGUS – The Victoria Park Senior Centre held a holiday lunch on Dec. 17. 

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A carbon monoxide alarm may not make it on anyone’s Christmas wish list, but come the new year, they’re required on every floor in many homes.

ABOYNE – After almost 18 months, a children’s play space has officially opened at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

FERGUS – Richard Wigmore recently led the men’s Team Canada Ball Hockey Team to a silver medal at the world championships. 

FERGUS – Arkells and Dallas Smith are the headliners for Meadows Music Festival in Fergus on May 29 and 30 and in making the announcement on Dec. 16, organizer Collin McKinnon crossed two things off his bucket list.

ELORA – Road salt damages roads, bridges, cars, shoes, pet paws, vegetation and, most importantly, drinking water, Centre Wellington council heard on Dec. 15.

ELORA – The Mayor’s Golf Tournament, held in September, raised almost $25,000 for the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
