WELLINGTON COUNTY – Hunger doesn’t take a break when summer vacation starts at the end of June, but student nutrition programs do. It’s a problem the Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington is hoping to alleviate with the launch of its Summer Snax Program.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A local man faces six charges in relation to the sexual assault of a minor in several incidents over the last nine months. "The incidents occurred between September 2023 and June 2024 at a home in Centre Wellington," police stated in a press release.

ELORA – Grand River Raceway marked a significant milestone in the facility’s history on Wednesday with the official opening of its new 5/8 mile racetrack, one of only two 5/8 tracks in Ontario. Key stakeholders, community members and racing enthusiasts were in attendance for the ribbon cutting.

ELORA – Council did not approve the 2025 budget at its June 10 meeting, but it did lay the groundwork for staff to get going on it. So don’t be alarmed by the 6.3 per cent tax increase noted at the meeting. It is a starting point only, treasurer Adam McNabb told council.

ELORA – After being the subject of debate for more than a year, council approved a zoning and official plan amendment for a mixed-use development at 19 Mill St. E. in Elora on June 10.
