Local board chair elected national trustee president

Wellington Catholic District School Board chair Marino Gazzola, was elected president of the Canadian Catholic School Trustees’ Association.

At the recent annual general meeting and conference, “Walking in the Light”, newly elected Gazzola spoke of the importance of stewarding Catholic education for future generations.

“We’re a team and one person cannot do it alone,” he said. “Together, we need to inspire a legacy of love and service to others.”

Gazzola has provided extensive service in Catholic education, locally serving as a trustee for over 26 years as well as provincially on the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA) Board of Directors since 2007.

He was also the president of OCSTA from 201 to 2014.

Gazzola now takes his talents to the national level and continues to work in support of activities and initiatives that enhance and promote the Catholic dimension of local schools.
