Letter of thanks for Sunrise Therapeutic community grant

It’s nice to be recognized for something good.

On May 2 Puslinch councillors recieved a letter of thanks from Allisa Gibson on behalf of Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centr.

Gibson thanked the municipality for its  $1,500. contribution.

“We appreciate your partnership as we work together to empower those with special needs in our community.

“As you know, this grant will co-sponsor therapy horse. Our horses are the backbone of our programs, assisting over 100 riders a week, in addition to school groups and 120 Riding Camp participants annually.”

“We selected ‘Nos’ as your therapy horse for this year (pictured below). Nos is an l8-year-old Quarter horse gelding, who is much loved by many of our riders, as you can see from the attached artwork, sent to us by a student in one of the classes of children with special needs that we serve.”

Gibson noted that parents and teachers alike are often amazed at the positive influence of the human-animal bond, which inspires riders to achieve their therapy goals. Therapeutic riding has many physical, cognitive and psychological benefits, and positive results beyond the specified goals for a rider are often witnessed.
