Ice storm brush cleanup in Erin

The Town of Erin is currently clearing brush that has fallen on public property, including road allowances, parks, cemeteries, storm water management facilities, trails, walkways and any other municipally-owned properties.

One trip will be made on every town street clearing brush that has fallen on the road. Work has been completed in Hillsburgh and continues in Erin – to be followed by all rural roads.

A special pick-up of brush in Erin village and Hillsburgh has been arranged for brush generated on private property.

Residents will be responsible for moving brush to the curb or side of the road before 7am on May 5. Crews may take until May 7 to collect in all areas. Collection trucks will only make one trip down each street. No additional pick-up is planned.

To prepare tree debris for collection:

– material should be placed by the curb by 7am on May 5;

– all material should be placed to the curb in an organized fashion;

– branches should be no longer than five feet in length;

– branches should be less than six inches in diameter; and

– bundles should not weigh more than 60 pounds.
