Health Care Heroes Radiothon raises funds for local hospitals

WINGHAM – Proceeds from the 2020 CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon will help two hospitals in north Wellington obtain much-needed equipment.

Donations to the Palmerston and District Hospital through the 19th annual radiothon will go toward a new anaesthetic gas machine.

The Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation (LMHF)  is aiming to raise $75,000 towards equipment needed for surgical services at the Mount Forest hospital, including a nasoscope.

The radiothon is set for Oct. 17.

“Given the unprecedented circumstances we’ve all been living through in the past few months, the radiothon provides us with an excellent opportunity to celebrate our health care heroes,” foundation officials state.

The radiothon also raises funds for hospitals in Chesley, Clinton, Goderich, Hanover, Listowel, Seaforth, Walkerton and Wingham.
