Headwaters Arts presents As the Story Goes

ALTON – Headwaters Arts is excited to present a most intriguing exhibit of over 55 pieces by 27 Headwaters artists from across the GTA and area.

The works include a variety of mediums: oil, watercolour and acrylic paintings, pastels, textiles, mixed media, fine art photography, mixed media mosaic, brushwork markers and acrylic/ink.

The works capture the fearless artist at work, who seizes the opportunity to dive into the creative unknown pushing their creativity and abilities to further explore a narrative waiting to emerge.

Liliana Davila from Mississauga, says this about her mixed media piece called, See me Smile.

“Life is meant to be lived, engaging with everything that exudes love.  I am always amazed at nature, and the universe we live in.  My works are inspired by all the colours that surround me, and how they come to life,” she said.

Pat Burns-Wendland, from Mulmur, is a textile artist and shares this insight about her work, Where Does Time Go.

“As a hand weaver, I usually produce fabric for clothing, but this piece of leftover silk was asking to have something experimental done with it,” she said.

“I relate to this piece as I personally find time is flying by at an incredible rate and yet I have so much I want to accomplish with my art.”

Participating member artists include: Anita Pietras, Carole Watson, Christine Schubert, Dana Darling, Daureen Murphy, Des Townshend, Hildegarde Sauski, Jason Masurka, Jody Leamen, Justin Morris, Liliana Davila, Lindsay Pearson, Lorraine Roberts, Lynn Gilbank, MaryLou Hurley, Miles Cohen, Mina Zare, Nahid Azari, Nanci Miranda, Nancy MacNabb, Pat Burns-Wendland, Pat Hertzberg, Samantha Hurley, Shannon Stettner, Sherry Park and Suzanne Walsh.
