Glass Tiger to headline Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games

FERGUS – Glass Tiger will headline the musical lineup for the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games this summer.

“We are truly thrilled to have Glass Tiger at the festival this year,” executive director Elizabeth Bender stated in a June 7 announcement.

“It is especially meaningful, as Glass Tiger was going to be part of our 2020 festival and 75th anniversary celebrations which were unfortunately canceled due to the pandemic.

“It is fabulous that we are able to welcome them this year.”

Glass Tiger is a Grammy-nominated band from Newmarket that has sold over 1.3 million albums.

The band rose to international fame after the 1986 release of its debut album The Thin Red Line, which included the hits Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone), Someday and the title track.

Glass Tiger will perform on the Friday night (Aug. 11) of the festival, following the Tattoo.

Tickets are included as part of the purchase of a Friday night ticket or weekend pass.

“It will be great to finally have Glass Tiger up on stage,” stated festival president Matthew Bennett-Monty.

“The festival team has put together an amazing lineup of entertainment this year that compliments all our other programming, including the World Heavy Event competition and Outlander stars.

“This is a festival year not to be missed.”

In addition to Glass Tiger, festival entertainment will include Albannach, Waking Finnegan, Glengarry Bhoys, The Snake Charmer, Elora Festival Singers, The Rogersons, Gillebride MacMillan, David Leask, Bob Maclean, and Chambless & Muse.
