Girls Night In can help raise funds to fight cancer

Finally, a fundraiser that fits a busy lifestyle – a girls’ night in.

The Canadian Cancer Society in Ontario has launched Girls Night In, a fun and flexible fundraising program that can turn any kind of get together into an opportunity to support research into cancers that affect women.

Host any kind of get-together – a book club, dinner party, movie night – with the girls and ask the guests to donate what they might spend on a typical night out.

That includes things like movie tickets, transportation, or dinner. Hosts decide how and when to get together and whom to invite.

In 2009, an estimated 12,050 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast, cervical, ovarian, and uterine cancers in Ontario. When hosting a Girls Night In fundraising event, that will help write the next chapter in a success story that will change lives.

Anyone can take the first step to hosting their own Girls Night In by visiting www.GirlsNightInForCancer.ca or by contacting the local Canadian Cancer Society unit office.
