Sitting in first place in the standings, the Centre Wellington Bantam Fusion AE squad hosted the Flamborough Sabres on Oct. 22.

Flamborough gave the Fusion all they could handle. The game remained scoreless through the first two periods. In the third with less than four minutes remaining, Daniel Newton found the back of the net with assists going to Ethan Kosempel and Brandon Page.

Flamborough was unable to put any shots behind hot goaltender Jacob Killinger. The game ended 1-0.

On Oct. 25 the team travelled to Guelph. This was a nail biter, with chances at both ends of the ice.

The game remained fast-paced in the second with no whistles for 13 minutes.

In the third, Ty Needham popped in a goal with assists going to Gemin and Kosempel. Guelph responded with a goal, but Needham put one more between the pipes assisted by Gemin and Kosempel.

Julian Austin kept the puck out of the net with 20 saves and the Fusion skated away with a 2-1 victory.
