Former Wellington North mayor Mike Broomhead dead at 65
Former Wellington North Mayor Mike Broomhead has died.
Broomhead, 65, passed away at his home on Feb. 5.
The Mount Forest resident served 21 years on local council, including two terms as mayor of Wellington North from 2003 to 2010.
He also served on Wellington County council, the Wellington North Power board of directors and numerous supporting committees.
Broomhead is survived by his wife Norine, four children and five grandchildren.
A celebration of his life is planned for First Baptist Church, Mount Forest on Feb. 12 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation, First Baptist Church or to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family.
