Food Cycle Ride raises over $15,000 for local foodbank

Mayor Kelly Linton said organizers could not have picked a better day for the 6th annual Food Cycle Ride on May 28.

To participants from outside the municipality, Linton offered, “Welcome to Centre Wellington.

“This is a great event which has gone on since 2011,” the mayor noted.

A lot of work goes into the organization of the event, Linton said as he thanked all the volunteers.

“Thank you to everyone for volunteering their time. What better thing to do than to have fun and make sure your funds support a great cause – the Centre Wellington Food Bank.”

The mayor said he cycles from time to time … “and there is no better way to see Centre Wellington … than by our trails and roads.”

More than 150 participants raised over $15,000 while enjoying a ride on the scenic Elora-Cataract Trail during the event.
