FEDS set to host third annual Special Needs Soccer Festival

Fergus-Elora District Soccer (FEDS) will be hosting their third Special Needs Soccer Festival at Victoria Park from 12 to 4pm on July 11.

The festival is an annual event at which the local special needs community members host guests from around the area including Halton Hills and Kitchener-Waterloo for a day of soccer games, fun, clowns, face-painting, photo booth, live music, and food and free cake for everyone.

Some other activities at the event include:

– the Centre Wellington Fire Department will be bringing its 1934 pumper for everyone to peruse; and

– a live performance by David Cavan Fraser.

The Special Needs Soccer Festival is a very unique event that was created by FEDS, organizers state.

“It gives our adult special needs community the opportunity to play soccer, get exercise, interact with their peers, belong to a Sports club and socialize. This festival is not only unique to our members and our community; it is also unique in Ontario as it is the only one of its type in the entire province.”

Community members and business are welcome to join in  and support special needs soccer members by sponsoring the cause or attending the Festival.

The festival is open to  the whole community, organizers note.
