EDEN MILLS – Guelph’s Eclectic Vinyl Orchestra will perform in Eden Mills for the next Music at the Hall concert on March 1 at 7:30pm at Eden Mills Community Hall.
EVO is described as “a high energy dance band” that plays music from the 1930s, ’40s, ’50s and ’60s, and “has been moving crowds with their upright bass, glittering saxophones, tight harmonies, polished spats and crisp button-downs” since 2015.
Their sets include songs by Etta James, Ray Charles, Little Richard, and Laverne Baker, as well as some original tunes.
“Their styles are klezmer and swing, New York ritz, Saturday night gospel, New Orleans jazz, Philadelphia soul, Chicago southside, and St. Louis blues,” a news release said.
Band members include Stu Peterson on piano and guitar; Jim Duffield, playing various saxophones, clarinet and even piccolo; Kerry Mullen on drums; and Matty Cooper on the upright bass.
The Band’s stomping grounds include the Red Brick Café and Manhattan’s in Guelph, Riverfest, Hillside, Elora’s Spring Fling Dance, and various venues in Southern Ontario as well as fund-raisers for worthy causes.
Music at the Hall concerts and events offer entertainment in the village of Eden Mills while also raising funds for the community hall’s operations.
Tickets for the EVO show are $30 for adults, $10 for students, available online at edenmills.ca/calendar.
The hall is located at 104 York St. in Eden Mills. The show starts at 7:30pm, and doors open at 7pm.
