CW Fusion Atom AA

On Sept. 23, Fusions home opener was against Stoney Creek. Stoney opened the scoring in the first but with less than a minute, Fusion tied the game up with a goal from Wyatt Marsland assisted by Kai Wycherley. Fusion took the lead shortly after with a goal from Zander Pereira assisted by Brinley Wilson. In the second period, Denver Feltham scored a goal from the sweet spot assisted by Brinley Wilson. In the third, Pereira got his second goal assisted by Nathan long and Liam McCracken. In the end, Fusion was just too strong and came away with the win 4-3.

On Sept. 26 the team travelled to Brampton. Fusion opened the scoring in the first with a wrist shot from Denver Feltham. Joe Columbus got the assist. The team continued to hold the lead in the second with a goal from Brinley Wilson assisted by Nolan Byrd and Eddie McDonald. In the third period Brampton woke up and began to fire pucks at the net until they took the lead. Eddie McDonald scored an unassisted goal in the third but Brampton was able to hold onto a 5-3 win.

On Sept. 27, Fusion played against Burlington. Burlington opened the scoring in the first. In the second Denver Feltham found the back of the net with assists going to Brinley Wilson and Eddie McDonald. Owen Bright was solid in between the pipes but Burlington snuck a goal in the third and won the game 2-1

On Oct. 2, Fusion and Woolwich met at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph for a classic confrontation. Fusion opened the scoring in the first with a great goal from Aiden Myer assisted by Josh Tosh. Woolwich managed to tie the game up in the second. In the third period, Woolwich scored again with just six minutes left in the game. In true Fusion style, the team didn’t give up and were able to tie the game up again with a goal by Eddie MacDonald, assisted by Nolan Byrd and Brinley Wilson. The game ended in a tie 2-2.

On Oct. 3, Fusion travelled to the big centre of Oakville. Fusion was on their game from the first puck drop. Every player had a great game and that’s what it takes to be Oakville. Jacob Kurt was absolutely outstanding between the pipes. Oakville was rattled and couldn’t solve the tender. In the first period Eddie MacDonald kicked off the scoring with assists from Denver Feltham and Kai Wycherley. In the third Zander Pereira put the puck between the pipes with an assist going to Ryan McDougall. With four minutes left Eddie McDonald sealed Oakvilles fate with his second goal of the game. Assists came from Kai Wycherley and Zander Pereira. Just when it looked like Jacob would get a shutout, Oakville pressed forward with 23 seconds and was able to sneak one by Fusions hot goalie.  Fusion walked out of the centre with a 3-1 win.
