A former Mapleton councillor has filed nomination papers to run in the Oct. 27 municipal election.
Dennis Craven of Moorefield joins Martin Tamlyn, Nadia Sommerville, Albert Runstedler, Angie Culp, Paul Douglas and Lori Woodham in seeking a councillor position for the coming four-year term.
Running for mayor in the township are incumbent councillors Jim Curry and Neil Driscoll.
Incumbent county councillor John Green is again running for the position in Ward 2, which includes Mapleton.
Bruce Schieck, a Mapleton resident, is running for re-election as Upper Grand District School Board trustee for Mapleton, Minto and Wellington North.
