County: culvert work near Palmerston will last about five weeks

MINTO – Wellington County officials are advising residents that work on a culvert north of Palmerston will disrupt traffic for about five weeks.

Construction on the culvert, located on Wellington Road 5, just south of 3rd Line, was originally to commence on July 20.

On July 21, officials announced the road has been reopened due to “project postponement.”

On July 27, the county announced the work was going ahead as of 9am that day.

To complete the work associated with the culvert extensions, X-terra Construction of Kitchener will have to close Wellington Road 5 between Wellington Road 123 (Main Street) and 3rd Line.

Southbound traffic will be detoured west along the 3rd Line, south on Highway 23 and east on Main Street.
