Condensed development a result of legislation?

Provincial policies are having a local impact here.

On June 1, Puslinch councillors looked briefly at notification of a subdivision proposal for the south end of Guelph.

The 5.75 hectare development is at the southwest corner of Gordon Street and Clair Road.

Mayor Dennis Lever said what he noticed about the development is that of the approximately 200 units proposed, only about 10% are single detached.

“We’re definitely seeing impacts of the Places to Grow legislation on projects which are coming forward in the city,” Lever said.

“I think we will continue to see higher density developments along its borders.”
