HANOVER – Hanover Community Players are offering “A big thank you to all of our audience members who took the time from their busy schedules to attend and support our Bare, Bear Bones shows.”

MOUNT FOREST – Over 150 students were involved in the “Gym Riot” event at Wellington Heights Secondary School (WHSS) in Mount Forest, where four teams competed in physical activities with the goal of winning the championship.

MINTO – Three new businesses held ribbon cutting ceremonies on May 9, joined by local dignitaries including MPP Matthew Rae, MP John Nater and Mayor Dave Turton. 

MINTO – The province will provide $48,800 in funding to the Town of Minto for a standby generator at the Palmerston and District Community Centre. 

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Raising awareness and advocating is at the forefront of the Alzheimer Society of Canada’s mission, as a dementia care crisis grows at a rapid rate, with little help to support patients and care workers alike. 

MINTO – Town council has approved a minor variance application allowing Harriston resident Robert Harris to build a one-storey residential building on his property.

KENILWORTH – The “Proudly Canadian Kenilworth” event was held at the Country Pantry on May 4, highlighting Ontario- and Canadian-made products.

ARTHUR – The Arthur Minor Hockey Awards Night on April 25 celebrated the achievements of young hockey players this past season.

HARRISTON – The Minto Arts Council held an opening night and awards reception for its eighth annual juried art show at the Harriston Public Library on May 8. The show runs until May 30.

KENILWORTH – Wellington North council hosted its fourth Recognition of Outstanding Achievement in Sports Night on May 7 at the council chamber here.

MOUNT FOREST – The Wellington Heights Varsity Boys Soccer team travelled to Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Walkerton on May 2 to compete in a 10-team soccer tournament.
