Blessings Thrift and Gift Store makes donations to two local groups

Providing resources – Donors, volunteers and shoppers have made it possible for the Palmerston Blessings Thrift and Gift Store to donate $8,000 to the Community Resource Centre, which offers various types of support.  For those eligible, there is financial assistance for emergency funding of rental and utility arrears and children’s registration fees for non-school related extra-curricular activities. Income tax return help and accessing government programs, as well as help to find resources for appropriate and affordable housing, and if necessary, emergency housing are some of the ways the CRC helps the local community. Donating for skating – Officials at Blessings Thrift and Gift Store in Palmerston state “Families are being blessed by the proceeds generated by those who donate ‘like-new’ clothing, shoes, household goods and a multitude of other treasures, diverted from local landfill sites to the [store]. Volunteers, who process and sell the goods, recently donated $5,400 to the free shinny and skating programs at Town of Minto arenas.” Receiving the $5,400 cheque from volunteer Connie Robinson, front right, are, from left:  Kyler Will, Ben Caughill, Minto facilities coordinator Greg Mallett, Nick Shank, programs and administrative coordinator Grace Wilson, Brayden Rogers and Alex Voll.”
