242 “Ross Ferguson” Squadron has new commanding officer

After three years the 242 Ross Ferguson Squadron has a new Commanding Officer.

Major Andrew Adamczak after three years at 242 has moved to 283 Squadron out of Woodbridge and Captain Victoria Sullivan has taking over as Commanding Officer.  

A ceremony took place in the Erin Legion Hall Erin on Sept. 23

Sullivan was born in 1982 in Halton Hills Ontario and started in Cadets at 765 Wild Goose Squadron in Georgetown in 1996, at the age of 14, under the friendly duress of her younger brother.

During her career at 756, she was actively involved with the band, drill team and flight scholarship classes.

She was able to attend the Oshkosh Trip in 1999. Once retiring as Seargent in 2000, she returned to 756 to assist in Supply/ Band. She has since held roles in Supply, Administration, Training and Band officer positions.

Captain Sullivan was enrolled in the CIC in April 2004, then taking her Basic Officer Training Course in winter of 2007.

In 2009, she moved from 756 to 800 Black Forest Squadron, in Mississauga, where she held the role of Level Officer.  After taking her Military Occupation Course in Fall of 2009 and Lieutenant Qualification Course in Spring 2010.

Captain Sullivan moved onto her most recent position – Training Officer and Deputy Commanding Officer at 242 Ross Ferguson Squadron in Erin.

Under the Command of Major Andrew Adamczak at 242 Ross Ferguson Squadron in Erin, Captain Sullivan has developed a vast array of knowledge including unit Cadet Conflict Management Advisor. Captain Sullivan was promoted to the rank of Captain in May of 2012 after     completing her Captains Qualification course in the winter of 2012.  Her  newest endeavor is to take command of 242 Ross Ferguson Squadron in Erin, Ont.

Major Andrew Adamczak relinquished his command of 242 “Ross Ferguson” Squadron in June of 2014  and has moved to 283 “Woodbridge Legion” Squadron as Commanding Officer and was promoted to his current rank of Major in June of 2014.
