Waterloo Wellington Children’s Groundwater Festival took over Marden Park May 22 to 28
The Waterloo Wellington Children’s Groundwater Festival was in full swing for its second day of festivities May 25 at Marden Park. The weather was warm and the sun was shining, allowing students to really get hands on. The festival is an annual week-long event that brings government, industry and educators together to teach children the importance of groundwater and their role in protecting and conserving our most important natural resources with plenty of hands-on activities, discussions, demonstrations, displays and exhibits for children in Grades 2 to 5. From left, Theo, Simon, Nathaniel and Calder, students from Suddaby Public School in Kitchener, were very engaged learning about water safety. Photo by Ellouise Thompson
