Arboretum Expo kicks off with Music Among the Trees
GUELPH – The University of Guelph Arboretum is excited to kick-off the Arb Expo: Tree Day and Plant Sale with Music Among the Trees, taking place on Sept. 11, 6:30 to 8pm at The OAC Centennial Arboretum Centre.
The evening will feature live music from Canadian singer-songwriter Katherine Wheatley.
“Enjoy a special sunset evening surrounded by nature with live music, snacks and beverages, a raffle, and an exclusive opportunity to preview the plant sale ahead of the Arb Expo: Tree Day and Plant Sale on Saturday,” officials say in a press release.
Ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase one plant ahead of the public plant sale on Sept. 12.
Tickets for the concert are $20 or pay what you can.
Proceeds from tickets and the sale help The Arboretum conserve biodiversity through research, education, and stewardship of nationally significant living plant collections.
The plant sale takes place the next day, Sept. 12, from 10am to 3pm at the Arboretum Centre and the West Lawn.
On offer will be greenhouse-grown woody and native plants.
There will also be guided tours, research project displays and tree-climbing demonstrations.
