Mayor Allan Alls will meet with involved parties to develop terms of reference for the town’s wastewater environmental assessment, but the public is not invited.

Alls announced at the Sept. 1 council meeting he and CAO Kathryn Ironmonger will meet with Triton Engineering, county planning director Gary Cousins, the Ministry of Environment and the Credit Valley Conservation authority on Sept. 22.

“Triton felt it was worthwhile to get all parties like that at the table to start with before we finish the terms of reference,” said Alls.

The meeting will not be open to the public or to councillors, said Alls, adding council will receive updates.

The mayor also wants to have a third party such as Infrastructure Ontario look at the terms of reference before moving forward.

EA grant

The town is seeking a $200,000 grant for the EA and Ironmonger updated council on the grant status.

“Triton has put the application together, it was submitted for comment to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and in turn ... other ministries ... We are tentatively getting a letter of approval,” she said.
