Police find body inside abandoned vehicle in Puslinch
OPP looking for clues, video to aid investigation
PUSLINCH – Local police are looking for clues after finding a dead person inside an abandoned vehicle here on Monday.
Wellington County OPP officers were called to the area, on Wellington Road 32 between Forestell Road and Concession 4 in Puslinch, on Sept. 21 at about 7:30am.
"Upon police arrival, officers located one person deceased inside the vehicle," police stated in a press release on Sept. 23.
Initially, police stated only that "there is no threat to public safety" and a portion of the road was closed.
On Wednesday, police announced the death and noted the road remains closed for the investigation, with "no estimated reopening time."
"Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident with no indication of a broader threat," the OPP stated. "The investigation remains ongoing and police continue to actively monitor the situation."
It's unclear why police waited more than two full days to announce the death.
The OPP is asking anyone who was in the area of Wellington Road 32 between 9pm on Sunday and 7:30am on Monday, "to review surveillance or dashcam footage for any suspicious vehicles or activity."
