Optimist Club of Centre Wellington make donations

Optimist donations – At its sixth annual trivia night on Feb. 29, the Optimist Club of Centre Wellington Fergus presented OPP Constable Jennifer Tschanz with a cheque for $750 for the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program. The funds were used to provide T-shirts for participating classes at J.D. Hogarth Public School.  The presentation to Tschanz was made by club president Jim Dandy.

At the same event co-chairs Joy and Steve Pinchin presented Camp Quality with a cheque for $8,500 to be used towards this year’s camp. Receiving for Camp Quality is director Laura Calvert and two other volunteers. “The Optimist club wishes to thank all who supported our fundraising efforts which allows us to make these kinds of donations,” club officials state. The club’s next fund raiser is a plant sale in May.
